Inspiration for my Premise Project @Alan

"Melissa McCracken thought everyone associated colors with music the same way she did. But she soon realized that her senses were unique. The Kansas City-based artist is a synesthete, and she is able to translate sound into vivid paintings. Talk about seeing the world in a different light."

When speaking with Phil he wondered if my animation could include shapes and colours that the music suggested to its listeners. "The Hall of the Mountain King" is a powerful, emotional piece and encourages a freedom of expression. I am keen to retain the story line I have created but now wonder if the abstract images could journey along the corridors with the king, as his memory and imagination takes over.

This video seems to relate to this idea of communicating sound through art and has inspired me to experiment.

I am going to invite a group of people (various ages) to take part in the study and ask them to listen to the music and paint in accordance with what they hear.

The Bassoon walking stick is a temporary design at the moment, it's just to help me see how he would stand.
