@Alan Rendering Tiff, Diffuse Planes

I am having trouble with rendering my scenes as most my objects have a transparent diffuse/tiff textures on them. I've tried looking up tutorials and most have said to turn off 'opaque' in the Arnold drop down menu but this still isn't working for me?

  1. Do you have alpha channels in the same file as the diffuse (one .tiff file connected to both colour and transparency of a shader)? Is so, make separate files for each. In photoshop copy your alpha channel (black and white part) into a new photoshop document, flatten it, save it, and then connect it to the transparency channel of the shader. You can do that by right clicking on the transparency channel first and then selecting 'break connections' - to free up the channel.

    1. Thanks Alan. I now have two separate files. Once I break the connections on the transparency, what do I do next? As I think I'm doing this wrong as I can't get it to work.

  2. You put the new file in to the transparency channel.
